"Chrysanthemum" Damask Table Napkin
Traditionally, “damask” refers to heavy silk, linen or cotton fabrics with a pattern woven into it, used for table linen and upholstery. Modern damasks are woven on computerised jacquard looms and damask fabrics are produced in single-colour weaves using silk, linen, cotton and synthetic threads (such as rayon and polyester) and feature patterns of flowers, fruit, and geometrical designs. The long floats of warp and weft threads cause soft highlights on the fabric which reflect light differently according to the position of the observer.
